Called and Commissioned
At the end of March, we had a wonderful day celebrating the 25 curates who took part in this year's Accelerate training programme. They joined us for a special day at HTB, alongside family and friends, many of them travelling long distances to be there.
What do they learn on Accelerate?
Over 20 weeks, Accelerate covers a broad range of practical and formational topics including how to build a healthy team culture, HR, preaching, prayer, and sustaining ministry over the long haul. The group also have access to coaching from some experienced practitioners and visits to existing church plants in the HTB Network of churches.
Impact
At the commissioning, Archie Coates, gave an inspiring and encouraging talk, and some of the cohort shared with us their experience on Accelerate, and how they felt this would impact their ministry as church leaders.
One participant summed up their time by saying,
“Accelerate has encouraged me to be bold in making creative and innovative decisions in church leadership... and this has been a decisively positive influence on the way in which I will lead going forwards.”
Another shared,
“I am a much more intentional leader as a result of Accelerate... I am immensely grateful for the fruit I have seen.”
Towards the end of the day there was a powerful time of prayer as we invited the Holy Spirit to fill each candidate and equip them for the places they'd been called to serve. We can’t wait to see what God will do through these spirit-filled men and women in the future!
